Wales!

From last Saturday for a week I went to North Wales. I thought I'd share some of the lovely pictures I got from various places we visited.

 The Black Waterfalls

Distances of famous waterfalls from Betws-y-coed

A beautiful view from a walk in the mountains above Beddgelert

Another view from above Beddgelert

The Glaslyn River

The mountain we unintentionally climbed after getting lost

The village of Beddgelert, famous for the burial of a dog that was killed by it's master who, upon seeing blood around the dog's mouth, assumed he had killed the baby, so he stabbed the dog in a rage. When the man went inside expecting to find his dead son, he found the baby healthy and alive with a dead wolf by his cot. The dog had fought off the wolf and saved the baby's life.

More of Beddgelert

Another new candle to add to my collection; bought in the Ffestiniog Railway Shop

The only living flowers on a deserted beach

The multi-coloured houses in Criccieth

The Start Of Autumn!

The best thing about the start of Autumn are the cosy nights in. It gets dark earlier so you probably don't want to be out doing things for longer than you have to. Like coming home from school, putting on some candles in your room and watching Netflix! I think even homework is easier to do in the Autumn/Winter time because it gets so dark and cold so you don't feel like you're missing out on anything; like in the summer.
I also think going out for meals and trips to the cinema is best in the Autumn because you can sit and chat in a restaurant for hours while its chilly outside, or watch a film. It might seem like there isn't much to do in the Autumn, just because it's cold outside. But I thought I'd give you some ideas of what you could do to make your Autumn even better!

1. Cinema trips with friends/girlfriend/boyfriend: if it's raining or cold outside then you aren't missing out anything by watching a new film in the warm.
2. Staying in at home: whether alone or with friends, Autumn and Winter are the best times to just stay inside and watch films, paint nails and eat food...
3. Buy some candles: it might sound strange but candles are a great way to make your room/house cosy and warm, as well as smelling good too! Plus you can always find cheap, good smelling candles in most supermarkets, so you don't have to spend loads of money!
4. Bake: baking is one of my favourite things to do all year round, but especially during Autumn and Winter when its cold outside. Brownies and muffins are a great idea for Autumny treats - as well as spooky cupcakes for Halloween!
5. Reading: it's simple but sweet. Reading is a great way to wind down and relax, made even better in your warm house and the sound of the rain outside.

I have lots more ideas, but will save them for a later blog! I hope these ideas have helped or inspired you on ways to keep your Autumn fun, instead of dull.

Writer's Block!

I love to write! I'm not really a fan of journalism and editing but I LOVE novel writing. I have been writing various different novels since I was 8 years old and in total have probably started to write about thirty different novels!
But you're probably wondering why I said I have 'started' writing that many novels and that's because I have a MAJOR case of writer's block! I get these incredible ideas that I just can't wait to get written down. I will write pages and pages of the beginning of the novel (sometimes writing about twenty something A4 pages) but then I just stop. I have no where to go. I haven't planned so far in advance. I'm literally stuck.  So I could have the best 20 page opening to a story, yet I can't find a main plot line.
Being an aspirational writer, it's the most frustrating thing in the entire world!

But I have come up with a few tips on how I think I can stay organised and be prepared with my writing and hope that it will help you budding writers as well.

- Make an 'Instant Plan'
From now on I have decided to instantly make a dedicated plan every time I find an idea. I won't plough ahead and start writing the story before I have an in depth plan of every plot line, plot twist, character and branch of the story. This ,I'm hoping, will keep me motivated in continuing with one story in stead of coming up with another that I think is better.

- Get to know my characters
One of my ultimate writing inspirations is JK Rowling. She inspires me to get to know my characters because I once saw an interview where she said she knows every single character inside and out, no matter how big or small their part was in the story. So far, I don't feel like I have written enough in depth characters to know every little thing about them and in doing so, have never been really excited to write more about them. I guess it's just a case of not having found the right character that I can connect with, but from now on when I create a character I will create character profiles with the most minute of details in order to get to know them better. JK Rowling said that she changed almost every character in the Harry Potter series before she got them spot on, so that's also promising.

 - 'Never give up!'
I guess if you are a writer, even if you're not, you've been told many times to never give up and probably are fed up of hearing it; I know I certainly am. So I'm not going to sit here behind my laptop and tell you to never give up because there are times when giving up might just be the best thing to do. However, I do advise you to never lose that spark for what you enjoy. If you love writing or running or singing or anything you may be knocked down numerous times and yes, giving up sometimes is okay (not all the time!) but NEVER lose your spark or your flair or your interest in your passion. Always love what you do. It's okay to take out a few minutes, or a week, or a month but never forget what you love to do because sometimes it is best to just lose your mind in your own little world.

I hope this helped any of you aspiring writers out there, I totally relate to all of you.
